Terminator 7 could revive the Terminator franchise with a core element of Terminator: Genesis and Terminator: Dark Fate. The Terminator movies were once some of the hottest action and sci-fi movies ever, with the franchise’s first two installments and 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day standing as the pinnacle of the franchise. However, subsequent Terminator movies have failed to recapture the success of the original, with Terminator: Dark Fate unfortunately bombing in 2019.
Since then, Terminator franchise creator James Cameron has begun work on Terminator 7, which will focus more on A.I. Skynet rather than machine. Oddly enough, Terminator: Genisys and Terminator: Dark Fate, despite each underperforming, will both present a core concept that could be just what the Terminator franchise needs to revitalize itself. In short, Terminator 7 truly sees the world through the eyes of the Terminators, something no other Terminator movie has really done.
